About

A small, local, made-to-measure business

We measure, make and fit shading for homes in Dainfern and the estates around it. That is the whole business, and keeping it that narrow is the point.

One suburb, properly understood

Dainfern Blinds exists to do one thing well: measure, make and fit shading for homes in Dainfern and the estates around it. We are not trying to cover Johannesburg. Knowing that a Ridge home has different window proportions to a fairway-facing house in Sherwood, or that a Chartwell verandah needs a screen rather than another blind, is worth more to you than a wider service map.

Everything is made to measure

Nothing we fit comes off a shelf. Every blind is manufactured to the measurements taken in your home, which is why the measure matters more than the brochure. A consultant measures each opening properly, notes which way it faces and what is outside it, brings fabric and slat samples to look at in the actual light of that room, and only then recommends anything.

That visit is free and carries no obligation. Nobody arrives with a clipboard and a closing technique.

The quote is per window

Your quote is written and itemised window by window. That is deliberate: it lets you keep the bedrooms and think about the patio, or do the west side now and the rest next year. A single lump sum makes that impossible, which is exactly why so many quotes are written as one.

What we will tell you honestly

  • If an interior blind is the wrong tool for a heat problem, we will say so and point you outside the glass instead.
  • If a repair is cheaper than a replacement, we will quote the repair — including on blinds we did not supply.
  • If a part is obsolete, we will say so rather than chase it for six weeks.
  • Our roller shutters are shading shutters. They are not security-rated, and we will never imply otherwise.

What we make

Roller blinds in blockout, sunscreen and light-filtering fabrics; day/night blinds; timber and aluminium venetians; cellular honeycomb blinds; vertical and panel blinds; skylight and shaped blinds; concealed blind boxes; external roller shutters for shading; folding-arm awnings; zip screens; motorisation across the range; and repairs. If it is not on that list, we do not make it — and we would rather send you elsewhere than fit something we cannot stand behind.

Estate paperwork

Interior blinds almost never need approval. Anything visible from outside usually does, and estates want product detail rather than a brochure. We hand over the profile, the colour reference and the fixing method in writing so your aesthetics submission has what it needs. We cannot approve it for you — but we can make sure nothing comes back for missing information.

Dainfern Blinds — window list

Walk the house, fill this in by hand, then type it into the form on dainfernblinds.co.za when you get back. Measure the width first, then the drop, in millimetres.

Pop in rough sizes and we'll send a budget range by the next working day. Not sure how to measure? Leave it blank — our consultant measures for free and you get exact per-window pricing either way. This is entirely optional and nothing here is binding.

Nothing on the list yet — and it stays entirely optional.

Anything you enter here travels with your enquiry as plain text. No uploads, no third-party services, nothing stored anywhere else. If photographs would help, a consultant will simply ask for them in the reply.

By sending this form you agree that we may use these details to contact you about your enquiry (POPIA). We don't share your details and we don't send marketing.

Thank you — that's with us.

What happens next

  • A consultant phones you back to understand the rooms and agree a time.
  • The measure happens at your home, with samples in the actual light of the room.
  • You get a written quote, per window, that you can cut down or add to.
  • Only then does anything get made. Nothing is ordered off a phone call.
